Disney Trip Tips

If you are planning on making Disney a part of your International Tournament experience, below are some helpful tips for making your Disney experience that much more enjoyable!

  • Hotel/Resort
    • If you are staying at a Disney resort (B Resort & Spa is a Disney Resort) be sure to buy your tickets so you have them in hand 61 days before you arrive.  Starting at 60 days before you arrive, you can book FastPass+ experiences (show up for a ride without waiting in line).  If you are not staying at a Disney resort, you will need your tickets 31 days prior as you can book FastPass+ 30 days before your arrival.

  • Online
    • Be sure to set up a Walt Disney World account ahead of time.  Go to  At the top of the page, you will find a link to “Sign In or Create Account”.  When creating an account for another person that can manage their own account, be sure to “Invite this Guest to connect” and provide their e-mail address.  Once create on any Disney Site, your account can be used on any other Disney Site (i.e. if you have an account on Disney Cruise Line, you can log into the Disney World site with that login

    • Install the Disney World app on your phone and start looking at it.  It can save you time waiting in line and relieve you from getting lost. The Disney World App has the following features:
      • Book FastPass+ experiences.  Both pre-trip and once you are in the parks.
      • Contains a moving map of all parks.  If you enable the GPS on your phone, it will show you exactly where you are at in the park and you can look at the map to figure out where you are going.
      • Shows current wait times for rides.  If a ride is not operating at the current time, it will also note that ride is “temporarily unavailable”.  This can save you lots of walking around and time by seeing where shorter lines are.
      • Book dining reservations.  Sometimes a reservation will be canceled during the day and you may be able to find one that wasn’t available before.
      • View photos taken by photo pass photographers

    • A wonderful online resource for anything at Disney World is  It allows you to:
      • Book Disney World Hotel reservations
      • Book Disney World Dining Reservations
      • Buy tickets
      • Schedule FastPass+ experiences
      • Manage your “Friends and Family” list
      • Get information on the different park.
      • See hours for each park, plus the schedule of parades, shows, fireworks, etc. that are going on the day(s) of your visit.
      • See descriptions of every attraction, show, ride, dining experience, etc. in Walt Disney World to help you plan your visit.
      • Get detailed information on Memory Maker.

  • Dining
    • If you are going to eat at Disney World Restaurants that take reservations, you can make those reservations up to six months in advance.  Some restaurants (especially character dining) book up fast. 

  • In the Park
    • Disney World has a package called “Memory Maker”.  Disney World provides Photo Pass photographers throughout the parks that will take your picture (most of them are in locations where you want your picture taken, i.e. Cinderella’s castle, Hollywood Tower of Terror, the large golf ball at Epcot, the Tree of Life at Epcot).  You get a discount if you purchase this more than 3 days before your arrival.  You buy one package for your whole group, get your picture taken, scan your ticket or Magic Band, and download the pictures once you get home.  Every picture, including most pictures from rides, will be available to you.  They even do some special ones where a character is inserted into the picture.  You also have the ability to add borders and special things to the pictures yourself.

    • If you don’t want to buy Memory Maker, the Photo Pass photographers will take pictures with your phone and/or camera.
